Visitors are also welcome to come along to our various meetings to find out more or feel free to send us an email via the Contact us page (link at left).
One of the questions we are frequently asked is whether we have a list of local quilting groups around Perth. We are not able to keep a list because many of these groups are run privately so we just don't have access to the required information about them nor do we have the spare, volunteer resources to research and maintain such a list. So, generally, it is only information directly relating to WAQA meetings, sewing days and workshops that we can assist with.
We do have a 'small groups' service (but for members only) which seeks to put new members in touch with like-minded quilters who would like to organise extra quilting days in their local area. Other options, if you are looking for a group include:
- Searching local notice boards in libraries and shopping centres
- Posting your own notice seeking like-minded quilters
- Contacting your local council. (If a local group is big enough it may be utilizing a hall provided by the council).
- Contact your local quilt shop(s). Local groups may be known to them. Alternatively, some quilt shops run open quilting days (for a fee) where you may meet local quilters who also participate in local groups.
